Recently, the Department of Power Engineering has made important progress in the construction of first-class courses and teaching materials.

On November 5, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education issued the "Notice on Announcement of the First Batch of Provincial-level First-Class Undergraduate Courses Certification Results" (Su Jiao Gaohan [2021] No. 9). A total of 42 courses in Jiangsu University were recognized as the first batch of provinces. Class-level first-class undergraduate courses, of which the course "New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Safety Testing Virtual Simulation Experiment" led by Prof. Yin Bifeng of the School of Automobile and Traffic Engineering was successfully selected, and it was recommended to participate in the selection of national first-class courses.

In early July, the Ministry of Education issued the "Announcement on the List of the First National Teaching Material Construction Award to be Awarded". After organizing application, preliminary evaluation recommendation and national review and other procedures, the "Internal Combustion Engine Science" (fourth edition) edited by Professor Wang Zhong from the Department of Power Engineering of the School of Automobile and Transportation Engineering won the second prize of "National Excellent Textbook (Higher Education)". This award fully demonstrates the achievements of the Department of the Power Engineering in the reform of the "three educations", fully examines the teaching ability and teaching level of the teachers of our department, and is of great significance to the construction of school textbooks.
