On the morning of November 29, 2020, at the invitation of our institute, Professor Cao Dongpu, Chief Scientist of Autonomous Driving in Canada and Director of the Cognitive Autonomous Driving Laboratory of the University of Waterloo in Canada, gave a school report entitled "From Traditional Vehicle Dynamics to Cognitive Autonomous Driving". The report was chaired by Professor Cai Yingfeng, Dean of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute. Teachers and graduate students from the Automotive Engineering Research Institute, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, and School of Computer attended the report.

Professor Cao Dongpu combined his own years of scientific research results and research experience to introduce in detail the development history of traditional vehicle dynamics in the past 70 years, as well as the opportunities and challenges of electrification and intelligence for traditional vehicle dynamics research in the past 15 years. He focused on the research progress of cognitive autonomous driving, and shared years of research results and new research directions of his scientific research team. At the report meeting, Professor Cao conducted interactive exchanges with teachers and students on site, and the atmosphere was warm.
