On the morning of July 15th, Prof. Amir Khajepour, who is the tenured professor of the Department of Electro-mechanics from University of Waterloo in Canada and Director of Waterloo car and Green Intelligent Transportation Systems Center, gave a lecture entitled "the progress and application of the urban vehicle new technology research in Jiangsu University. The report was hosted by Prof. Jiang Haobin, Dean of the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering. There were more than 80 teachers and students who attended this lecture.

Prof. Khajepour firstly introduced his research on the vehicle system dynamics, air suspension, active seat and robot, and then turned to the subject of the academic report. Prof. Khajepou said traffic congestion was an increasingly serious social problem faced by all of the big cities in the world, and it was expected that the number of global vehicle population would increase to 30 milliontill 2050 while a single vehicle occupants was only 1.6. Therefore, he thought it was necessary to research and apply smart cars with small size. Prof. Khajepour explained small urban vehicles and development of new energy vehicles which were developed for providing consumers with safer, more intelligent, more economical traffic in Waterloo, Canada. This report strongly interested teachers and students on site who hadheated discussions and communications.

After the report, Prof.Khajepour Amir visited the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering, and the laboratory of Automotive Engineering Research Institute. The leaders of the International Exchange Department and the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering discussed with Prof. Khajepour Amir about some corporation programs which are academic communication programs, cooperative training projects and research projects.
