The Institute of automotive engineering led the revision of the international standard, which not only gave full play to the important role of the Institute as a scientific research force in serving social development and international standardization construction, but also substantially improved the reputation of Jiangsu University in the international internal combustion engine industry, focused on the goal of "building a first-class discipline", helped the development of China's internal combustion engine industry and improved the international competitiveness of the industry.

International Organization for Standardization / internal combustion engine technical committee (ISO / TC70), established in 1949, is responsible for the preparation and revision of technical standards for reciprocating internal combustion engines and rotary engines. Since 2008, SAIC Shanghai internal combustion engine Research Institute Co., Ltd. has assumed the Secretariat.
