From July 7 to 10, 2021, the 2021 Asian automobile lightweight exhibition was opened in Shanghai New International Expo Center, and the China International Aluminum Industry Exhibition was held at the same time. Associate Professor Duan Libin, director of the Institute of new energy vehicle lightweight and safety of our institute, led a team to participate in the exhibition. Duan Libin attended the university innovation achievement technology exchange meeting held on the 7th, and made a keynote speech on "new energy vehicle lightweight product R & D and advanced testing technology".

The innovative achievements exhibited by the Institute include the latest research achievements in collision safety and lightweight design of new energy vehicles, forward development and industrialization promotion of vehicle power battery packs, failure characterization of multi materials and connection technologies, advanced testing technology of multi materials and structures, intelligent design and software development of new energy vehicles, etc. During the exhibition, the Institute conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges and negotiations with relevant institutions and enterprises at home and abroad. Through physical exhibits, test samples, promotional videos and posters, the Institute fully demonstrated its forward-looking technical reserves in new materials, new structures and new processes and its application in the industrialization and promotion of new energy vehicles, further enhancing its influence in the new energy vehicle industry.

This exhibition focuses on "low carbon and environmental protection", and focuses on presenting new materials, new technologies, new applications, new ideas and new trends in aluminum and automobile industries at home and abroad. With a total area of 45000 square meters, the exhibition attracted more than 500 excellent aluminum, equipment and auxiliary material suppliers at home and abroad, and more than 20000 professionals from all over the world attended the event. The exhibition also set up themed forums, exchange seminars, matchmaking meetings and other activities. Five auto related exhibitions such as Asian auto lightweight exhibition and Shanghai International wheel industry exhibition were linked to effectively promote the communication between upstream and downstream industries in the industry and promote the sustainable development of aluminum industry chain and automobile industry.
