In order to activate the scientific research atmosphere of the college and promote academic exchanges between teachers and students, the College of Automotive organized the "Weekly Lecture" series of activities. This activity was held on May 17, 2023 at 15:00 in the conference room 311 of the School of Automotive, Mr. Tu Wenqiong, a teacher from the Department of Vehicle Engineering of the School of Automotive Engineering, gave an academic lecture with the theme of "Detailed Mechanical Analysis of Composites and Integrated Design of Green Composites for Vehicle Use", which was presided over by Wang Ruochen, vice dean of the School of Automotive. The lecture was hosted by Mr. Wang Ruochen, Vice Dean of the School of Automotive.

The method of fine-scale mechanics plays an important role in the prediction of mechanical properties of composite materials, the design of new composite materials and the multiscale calculation of composite structures. The volume-limited micromechanics theory is well suited for the calculation of macroscopic material parameters and microscopic stress-strain fields of composites with high computational efficiency, high accuracy and good convergence. By introducing the cohesion model, the fiber/matrix interfacial shear failure behavior of unidirectional fiber-reinforced composites, and the crack extension and bifurcation behaviors of the plywood substrate in-plane and out-of-plane can be simulated effectively. Meanwhile, by introducing the continuum mechanical damage model, the damage and macroscopic response of metal matrix composites can be effectively predicted. Recently, based on the theory of fine-scale mechanics, the presenters constructed a multi-scale model to explore the application of nanocellulose composites in vehicle structures.
