The School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering Successfully Held the “920 Just Love You” Psychological Education Lecture for Freshmen

    At 10:00 am of September 9th, the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering held a live online lecture “920 Just Love You” on freshmen admissions education and mental health during epidemic prevention and control. Ms. Lu Jing, Deputy Director of the Mental Health Education Center, made the lecture. Presiding over the lecture was Prof. Yang Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean of the School. The school’s freshmen undergraduates and their parents listened to the lecture.

In order to assist new students to adapt to university life in advance, with consideration of the problems that occurred in students’ psychological consultation during the epidemic, the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering held this online broadcast for the freshmen who are about to register through the school’s WeChat enterprise account. Ms. Lu communicated with the students about five aspects of adaptation issues, regarding the environment, interpersonal relationships, learning, economics, and mental states. She also made an analysis featuring how college freshmen should adapt to the living environment, learning environment, interpersonal communication environment, and psychological environment, plus other transformation issues with respect to new enrollment. Finally, Ms. Lu addressed everyone the necessity of maintaining healthy mentally, which can be helped by learning psychological knowledge and adjustment methods, as well as making good use of psychological consultation. Only in this way can students meet the better of themselves in university time.

The School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering has always laid great emphasis on the psychological education of students. Through this special lecture on freshmen admissions and adaptation education, the school aims to help freshmen and their parents to raise the awareness of the possible issues in university life, guide students to adjust their mentality and emotions, alleviate negative emotions and behaviors during the epidemic, and help with the growth of students’ mental health. Therefore, students will be better prepared for university’s study and life during the stage of epidemic prevention and control, and do a better job adjusting their studies both on campus and at home during the epidemic.
