On September 23rd, invited by vice-principal, Chen Long, general manager of China Automobile (Beijing), Automotive Lightweight Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., Professor Lin Yi, Professor Wang Dengfeng from Jilin University, came to the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering and Automotive Engineering Research Institute to do some communication and guidance, and did two academic report about automotive lightweighing. The report meeting is held by the president of School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering, Professor Jiang Haobing, teachers and students from the school attended the report meeting.

Professor Lin Yi’s report Development Trend and Prospect about Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Lightweighting, elaborated the development situation about using lightweighting as an efficient way of energy-saving and emission-reduction at home and abroad in the face of increasingly severe fuel consumption regulations from the macroscopic political level; Professor Wang Dengfeng’s Roadmap of Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Lightweight Technology elaborate the technology roadmap and development goal about vehicle lightweighting in technical view. The two report had the same subject and different angle, compared the policy and technology at home and abroad through the discussion, and pointed out that research in vehicle lightweighting in our country still had great potential and space, and specified the developing direction in research of vehicle lightweighting in our school, furthermore, promoted the cross fusion and win-win cooperation among subjects including vehicle, manufacture and material science.

Professor Lin Yi and Professor Wang Dengfeng also visited laboratory of School of Automotive and Automotive Engineering Research Institute, gave affirmation and praise to the development in recent years at automotive subject in our school, and would work together, develop together, and make greater contributions to automobile industry for our country.
