On the afternoon of October 23, Prof. Sun Jian from Tongji University gave an academic report entitled “Microscopic Traffic Simulation: Problems and Challenges” on invitation in Room 311, the lecture hall of School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering. Prof. Jiang Haobin, Dean of the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering, and associate Prof. Wang Shaohua, Deputy Dean of the school, as well as some students and teachers from the Department of Transportation Engineering and the Department of Traffic Engineering attended the report.

The report of Prof. Sun mainly included four points: simulation and evaluation of traffic system planning, design, operation and management, how to develop a simulation model suitable for China, credibility evaluation and parameters calibration of simulation and prospect of secondary development interface for simulation software.

The lecture given by Prof. Sun had rich contents and vivid instances and it aroused wide interest of the teachers and students. After the report, Prof. Sun heatedly discussed and communicated with the teachers and students.
