From February 14th to 17th, the United Nations Center of Excellence of the World Food Programme for Rural Development and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation hosted an online seminar on the "China-Africa Rice Value Chain Development Initiative: Post-harvest Rice Management in Cote d'Ivoire" and conducted training. At the opening ceremony, Mr.Patrick Teixeira, Acting Country Director of the West Africa Center for Excellence against Hunger and Nutrition, Qu Sixi, Director of the WFP China Representative Office, Ms.Severine Giroud, Deputy Director of the World Food Programme Office in Cote d'Ivoire, and Zhao Yutao, Vice President of Jiangsu University, delivered speeches successively. There are 6 theme modules in this seminar: tractor use, rice threshing, rice drying, rice milling, rice grading, rice processing and loss reduction. Prof. Wei Shengli of our hospital was invited to participate in the discussion and conduct the online training of "tractor use" for Ivorian students. After the lecture, Mr.Wei had an interactive discussion with the students of the Ivorian Coast. The students actively asked questions and expressed their opinions, which achieved satisfactory results and was highly praised by the officials and students of the UN Food Programme.
