On September 4th, the appointment ceremony for Professor Naoshi Kondo, the President of the Japan Society of Agricultural Machinery and a tenured professor at Kyoto University, who was appointed as a distinguished professor at our university, and the progress meeting for the construction of the "China-Japan International Joint Laboratory for Transportation Equipment and Intelligent Maintenance and Operation" were held in Room 311 of the Automotive College. Attendees included Shanpeng Chen, the Japanese leader of the China-Japan International Joint Laboratory and a tenured professor at Mie University, Xiaobo Zou, the Vice President of Jiangsu University, Yong Cui, the Director of the International Division, Ruochen Wang, the Dean of the Automotive College, and representatives from the Chinese side of the China-Japan International Joint Laboratory.
Professor Naoshi Kondo delivered academic reports titled "Start with Sensing Systems for the Trade-off Problem 'Food-Environment'" and "Small Scale Smart Agriculture with Robot and AI," introducing agricultural sensing technology, intelligent robotics, and their engineering applications. Professor Shanpeng Chen presented a report titled "Research on Intelligent Inspection Robots for Industry 4.0," detailing trajectory tracking and autonomous navigation technology for intelligent inspection robots, sensor placement and data transmission techniques for inspection, as well as research on anomaly detection and fault diagnosis. Following the presentations, both professors engaged in academic interactions and exchanges with the faculty and students in attendance.
