On the afternoon of May 24, Professor Gordon Clark, Director of language Center of North Arizona University in USA and Professor Cao Bingyin, Nau Center for International Affairs, present to students in the vehicle Engineering Program of our Institute of Automotive Engineering (Sino American Exchange 1701) about Exchange Center and related language training (PIEs).
The Language Exchange Center of the University of North Arizona has more than 20 teachers who specialize in language training and have a wealth of teaching experience. It is mainly responsible for English teaching and training for international students in order to improve their English proficiency, adapt to the study of Nau courses and integrate rapidly into campus and social life.
The lecture was mainly divided into four parts. The first part introduced the main test contents of the pie entrance examination in North Asia. The second part explained the grading of pie test scores and the corresponding courses of each grade in North Asia. The third part introduced the teaching methods and teaching staff of the language Exchange Center of the University of North Arizona. The fourth part explained in detail how to study English in the United States and how to integrate into the campus life.
The lecture provided students with a better understanding of the teaching methods and the importance of the English language in the language Center of the North Arizona University, and made students fully aware of the necessity of using the remaining time before going abroad to improve their English. In addition, Professor Gordon Clark also sent out a map of the city of Flagstaff, the city where the campus is located, for each of the students in the experimental class, making the students more eager to study and live at the University. Teacher Geng Guoqing took part in the lecture and answered the questions raised by Professor Gordon and his classmates.
