On the afternoon of November 27th, at the invitation of our school, Mr. Tan Xin from Ricardo Software conducted an academic report entitled "Application of Ricardo simulation software in engine and power assembly” in the lecture hall 311. The report was presided over by Prof. Yin Bifeng, vice president of our school and Prof. Tang Dong, director of the Department of Power Machinery and Engineering.

Tan Xin, the Chinese Business Director of Ricardo Software, graduated from Zhejiang University in 2006 with a master's degree. He has served in several roles, including calibration engineer, vehicle modeling and simulation engineer, for UAES、VALEO、Ricardo. Ricardo is a global engineering and strategic, technical and environmental consultancy business with more than 100 years of history.

In the academic report, Mr. Tan introduced the function and instruction of each module in Ricardo software, elaborated on how to use FAST to work on the basic modeling and analysis of engine friction prediction, showed a example of performing co-simulation between FAST & WAVE to predict engine fuel economy. He had a further Q & A with teachers and students about some doubts and questions in the simulation process. Teachers and students all spoke highly of him and the report.
