From August 8th to 10th, the final of the 12th “Shougang JingTang Cup” National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction was held in North China University of Science and Technology. Nearly 1000 students from 102 universities in China, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, Sichuan University, etc., brought 199 science and technology innovation projects to compete on the spot, covering a wide range of fields like energy, machinery, resource utilization, etc.

Under the guidance of Prof. He Ren,the work "Leak Detection Device Of Car Fuel Evaporation System" completed by Mao Lang, Fang Yanyue, Gao Feng, Lin Ziyan, Liu Shu and other students finally won the first prize.

The National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, closely centering on the national energy and environmental policies and combining with the major national needs. It is one of the 30 national top competitions included in the evaluation results of China university innovation talent training and discipline competition by China Association of Higher Education. Since then, it has been held for 12 consecutive times, showing an increasing trend year by year both in participating universities and contest works. It has become an important stage for national college students to display scientific and technological innovation achievements, show their youth and energy and promote the concept of energy saving and emission reduction.
