On the morning of September 27th, Prof. Guenter Elsbett, from Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH Amberg-Weiden) paid a visit to Jiangsu University and delivered an academic speech entitled "marine engine advanced technologies for high efficiency and low emissions" in the lecture hall 311 at the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering. The speech was hosted by Prof. Wang Zhong, and attended by Prof. Gao Zongyang and relevant teachers, postgraduates and undergraduates.
During the speech, Prof. Elsbett introduced the background and significance of researching on Marine Engine-advanced technologies for high efficiency and low emissions and elaborated the working principles of different types of marine engines. He pointed out the advantages of new fuel marine engines and the influence of different advanced technologies on the efficiency and emission of marine engines. He also introduced the existing application of marine engine technology for high efficiency and low emission. At the end of the report, Prof. Elsbett carefully answered several questions from the students andteachers.

Guter Elsbett, distinguished visiting professor of Jiangsu University, is an expert of internal combustion engine in Germany. He owns more than 200 international invention patents and hold the post of technical expert in some well-known enterprises including FAW Jiefang Automotive Co., Ltd. Wuxi Diesel Engine Works, Weichai Power Co., Ltd., Changchai Co., Ltd., Quanjiao Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. In 2012, he received the Chinese Government Friendship Award.
